I have felt like an outsider all my life, the black sheep, the misfit. As a child, i always marched to my own unique beat. My mother disliked the way i looked physically and was also bothered by my strong-willed, creative nature. As a child, i allowed her to make me feel like the ugliest, weirdest creature, on the face of the earth and she would often say, Why can't you just act normal?.
As an adult, i began to realize these were my mothers' issues and need not remain mine. I finally embraced my eccentricity, my creativity, and exotic physicality. This image symbolizes that transformation.
